Waste consumable materials namely silicon carbide and glycol. GSM recycles about 70% of its silicon carbide. The remaining portion is transformed into sludge and disposed according to rules and regulations established by the industrial park and the local environmental bureau. Both silicon carbide and Glycol are not hazardous to health.
	Liquid acid waste arising from the etching process. GSMSolar and OET are treating the waste by neutralizing it before disposal.
	Contaminated Water (mostly by silicon powder). Efforts are made to develop process to recover silicon powder from the slurry. GSMSolar Kunshan has also built its own water treatment plant for all its used industrial water and transform into silicon sludge then disposed according to local rules and regulations. Silicon powder is not hazardous to health.
	Acid gas released during the etching process. Both OET and GSMSolar Kunshan have fume scrubbing facility.

   The Group’s principal is to comply with local regulations and is also trying to exceed local requirements by at least one notch.
